Wage Board Decision Expected Next Week

We've been eagerly awaiting the decision from the New York State Wage Board on raising fast food wages -- and the wait is almost over! The Board will meet again next Wednesday, July 22 at 2:30 pm in New York City, and we expect they will recommend a historic wage increase for our state's 180,000 fast food workers.

Across the state, workers and their supporters will be gathering to share this moment in New York City, Albany, Rochester and Buffalo.

In New York City, all are welcome to attend the Wage Board's meeting at 2:30 pm at the Health Department (90 Church St.).

In Albany, we'll gather at Citizen Action's office at 94 Central Ave at 2 pm for a watch party followed by a press conference. RSVP here.

The Buffalo community will gather at Buffalo City Hall at 2:30 pm to watch. RSVP here.

And in Rochester, a watch party will be held at 2 pm at Parsells Community Church followed by a march to McDonalds and press conference. RSVP here.

The wage increase that fast food workers are about to win is the result of many months of fast food workers, union members, students, other low wage workers, community leaders, and people of faith coming together to demand justice. We have much more work to do to ensure that ALL people can earn a living wage - but in the meantime let's celebrate this significant milestone together.
