Truth Commission Report and the New Poor People's Campaign

Back in July, residents from across the Capital District gathered together to share their stories and experiences of poverty, as well as their stories of resistance. This was part of a series of events around New York State, and the testimonies gathered have been compiled into a report, available here:

Join us Tuesday, November 28th, 7pm at the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady (603 State St., Schenectady) for a presentation on this report, as well as a discussion of the story, strategy, and structure of the New Poor People's Campaign. We'll report-back from the Poor People's Campaign Mass Meeting in Binghamton, and strategize action steps for the campaign in the Capital District and New York State. You can RSVP below and share the Facebook event here. Learn more about the Poor People's Campaign here:

We'll have coffee/tea, and dessert (graciously donated by Ben and Jerry's!), and childcare will be available.

We hope you'll join us for this important next step in building the movement to end poverty.
